Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. is a Ghanaian producer and reggae-dancehall musician who performs under the stage name Shatta Wale, After leaving school he started performing under the moniker 'Bandana' and soon gained recognition with his single 'Moko Hoo', which earned him a nomination at the Ghana Music Awards in 2004 and propelled him into the mainstream Ghanaian music scene. After a decade long hiatus, he re-branded himself in 2013 when he began releasing music under Shatta Wale. Wale consistently features in the 'Top 100 Most Influential Ghanaians' chart and won 8 awards at the 3music awards in 2019.
