Ice Nine Kills is a metalcore band originally founded in 2002 by high school friends in Boston, Taking their name from a fictional substance that features in the sci-fi novel Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, the band released their debut independent album Last Chance to Make Amends in April, 2006. By 2008, the group had opened for acts such as As I Lay Dying, A Day To Remember, Thursday, Paramore and became regular features on the bill for Warped Tour. As well as releasing their own own music, the band is also known for their metal cover versions of popular songs including Adele's 'Someone Like You' and 'Animals' by Maroon 5.
