Big Thief is an American indie folk rock band based in Brooklyn, New York. Members Adrianne Lenker (guitar, vocals), Buck Meek (guitar, backing vocals), Max Oleartchik (bass), and James Krivchenia (drums) met at Berklee College of Music - although they didn't form the band until after they had all graduated in 2015. Their first album, Masterpiece, was released on Saddle Creek Records in 2016 and was well received, however it was their second album, Capacity, that put them in the spotlight after it appeared on multiple album-of-the-year lists. Their third album U.F.O.F. was nominated for the Best Alternative Music Album for the 2020 Grammy Awards.
